MY YOGA STORY

I remember hearing about yoga. Naturally, as a truth seeker I always had a curiosity about the ancient practice. I wondered if it was more than just a bunch of hippies sitting around in lotus poses. I will never forget that first class. The day yoga found me. Yes I remember that day.

It was 2003, I was living in Austin, Texas. It was my first real gig as a tv journalist. I would leave work so pumped from the adrenaline rush of the day. I realized I needed an outlet to help ground me and relax. So one day, a co-worker took a yoga class at a local ballet studio near the University of Texas Campus.

The instructor was amazing, extremely encouraging and inspiring. I was hooked. I felt felt an instant connection with the poses and the meditation. Quite honestly, it felt like returning to my childhood. Some of the poses were things I did as an innocent kid not even knowing I was doing yoga. It's my passion. I always say everything is better after yoga.

WHY YOGA STORY?

The practice has really allowed me to dig deeper and get to know myself better. Yoga is all about self-examination. So why yoga story? I find the human experience extremely fascinating. Yoga breaks down walls. It helps people let go and live. On that note, I wanted to offer a yogi lifestyle website that could capture all things related to the yogic way of life.

Yoga is so much more than the physical practice. Whether it's giving the dish on a new healthy recipe to promote mindful eating, featuring an inspiring yogi or posting yogi travel blogs and photos. This site is meant to inspire, inform and spread love.
